Last Minute Tea…

Hi everyone! Are you ready when unexpected guests drop in? I can assure you, I am way more Lucy Ricardo than June Cleaver when it comes to that! I am trying, though.
The girls had some friends come by last week to play in the creek. We thought it would be fun to share an impromptu afternoon tea with them. I had already made raspberry iced tea. I whipped up some scones and got out my mom’s homemade strawberry preserves. I took some “deli spiral” sandwiches out of the freezer to thaw and presto, tea was served! I just took a few quick photos before they devoured everything, including a whole gallon of iced tea!
I’m very proud of my scones, even if it’s only my second time! These are Cream Scones from the old Watkins Cookbook.
I used a vintage tablecloth and the ticking napkins I made. I thought the girls would enjoy the snack plates! The pattern is Federal Glass “Homestead.” I also put out the butter spreaders, and they loved using those.
The girls enjoyed their tea on the porch, even when the sheriff stopped by! (The same little 4-year-old sheriff from last week.)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I’ll be participating in Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch, so please go by there and visit as many lovely participants as you can. Have a great week!!
