Progress on the back porch

It seems like we have been working on the porches for months.  We had to pressure wash, then I stained the decking and re-painted the back railings. I wanted a more vintage, country kind of style back here so I have done some changing.

I made slipcovers for some of the outdoor cushions with fabric I had and gathered some old things from around the property.

This is another one of my old screen door projects, and you can see it on Hometalk HERE.

My dad had given me some license plates and it occurred to me they would look great on the plate rack I wasn’t using.

I painted my grandmother’s pink wicker rocker. It was already pink, but needed to be redone, so I kept her favorite color.

I found this old Coke carrier a while back so I put my mother’s peonies in Coke bottles.

I did buy this 1950’s tablecloth, but at $11 and free shipping, it was a deal.

This little bar was another project. It was badly damaged, so I sanded and gave it a coat of black paint then walnut stain on top.

I have found so many cool, old things around here and I am enjoying incorporating them into my decor both inside and out.

The important thing is we have already been enjoying it as a family. We really do enjoy sitting out here and just talking.

I have been posting my progress and little projects on my facebook page, so please join me there:-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Your porch is so inviting! The vintage details and soft colours speak of relaxing times – no wonder your family enjoys sitting out there talking. The license plates look perfect in your plate rack and the screen door adds an unexpected element that adds to the charm.

Your porch is wonderful! I wish I had a porch but will have to be creative with the concrete patio and teeny, tiny front porch step I have. You always inspire me!
