Making slipcovers and playing…

Because I just cannot leave anything alone, I decided the lace slipcovers I made last year were too white, so I made four more out of drop cloth fabric.

If you remember, they looked like this, and worked great with the blue in the dining room, which is now where the piano is.

So I decided to make something simple, but long and gently draping on floor.

I like the drama, but they’re not too fussy.

I’m sure my 7-year-old son will not come near them. So I still have the burlap covered bench and four more chairs with plain burlap upholstery for him to choose from.

I wasn’t satisfied with just changing the slipcovers, so, I started moving other things around. I had added an antique blue mirror from the old house to the old door as well as an original painting by a relative over the buffet.

But I thought there was just too much fighting for attention, so I took down the hanging candle holders.

And I still didn’t like it, so I took out the mirror and the painting. Now, I’m just not sure, so I’ll live with it and see what inspires me.

But I do love the slipcovers:-)

I love the new slips! Beautiful, Anita! I like the door without the mirror and I would move the lamp over to the other side of the buffet. See what I mean???

Yes, and funny you mention that Pinky, but I thought about moving the lamp over. I have had a lamp there on that side, but I need it to be where it is because we use it a lot and it is convenient there. I usually have a pot of greenery or something tall in the empty space, but it would be bare branches at this point, lol.

I love how so many of your things are so meaningful. If you don't mind a suggestion … move your lamp to the other side of the sideboard and see if that helps balance that wall for you.
