The gray kitchen…

Yes, I said “gray.” I know, I know, the blue kitchen was *my* thing, but I was ready for a change and since this is all one big open space, I wanted to paint it all the same color.

So, “Geneva swan gray” it was.  This is just a lighter version of the “Grand smoky mountain” color the cabinets and trim are painted. (And — this is Walmart “Colorplace” paint. I use it all the time and have had great luck with it so far.)

I really like this soft, neutral shade because it gives me the option of using whatever color I want as an accent. Now, it’s red, but you all know I’ll get out the pink and blue for summer.

I showed you the shelves last week accessorized with milk glass, McCoy, ironstone, silver and my Blue Ridge “Stanhome Ivy.”

It’s definitely brighter, but I found myself looking for the “color” when I was shooting from this angle. Maybe I’ll put a rug there at the door.

You can tell against the white crown molding that it’s not white, but a soft gray.

Doesn’t everyone have a Minecraft puzzle on their fridge? It’s a snow day today:-)

I think the Blue Ridge dishes really go well with the red fabric I’m using, and also carry some color around the space.

I do love the change, and like I mentioned last week, it’s kind of a “palate cleanser,” I think, and always subject to change:-)

Although I loved your blue walls Anita, I think this pale grey unifies the look of the whole open space. It looks lovely. I really like your stack of white milk glass next to the sink! I need to get me an ivy plant. πŸ™‚ Have a great week! Pam

It looks beautiful! I just painted my kitchen gray in November and I love how bright it makes it (and it was white before that, so go figure)! It makes a nice neutral backdrop!

I love gray and if I could change my color palette in my house it would go from cream to gray in an instant…it is such a wonderful neutral and goes with everything. Your kitchen looks great!

The kitchen looks great, Anita! Hubby and I popped into Restoration Hardware over the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the gray walls. I think the man cave will be getting a coat of gray paint this spring.
