Summer Home Tour

I thought I would go ahead and wrap up a summer home tour in case any of you are interested in seeing everything in one post. At least you can see how everything ties together.

I am all about pink and blue, but this spring I went with hot pink and indigo as opposed to the aqua and peachy pink I was using. We’ll start on the porch

…which is actually more of a side porch overlooking our beautiful mountain creek.

If you turn to the right, this is the front porch.

Everyone enters the house through a set of french doors that opens into the music room/entry.

Thanks for stopping by for a little summer tour:-) It seems as if fall is just around the corner as the katydids were chirping away last night. The old timers say that means frost is six weeks away. Wow, where does the time go?

🙂 Just beautiful Anita. Your home always makes me smile. I know you will take this as I mean it, it reminds me of my Grandmother's home.. HOME!!! Things that span an era, things that harken to an easier time of life… a slower pace. I luv your unique style!

Thank you Gee:-) I thought about you as I bought three more vintage sarees and my 13 year old is trying to figure out how to "wear" one, but we are having trouble getting it right, lol. We love them. RE a previous comment, I can't believe we were only an hour from you! We loved it there and hope to go back:-)

You have such a pretty and charming home! I love how you've incorporated pops of bright color among the neutrals in your home. It really adds a lot of personality. It almost has a bohemian vibe in some ways with the color and patterns used. However, it's not over done.

You must be a lovely person…to have all this beauty in your vision and then be able to achieve it for your home. Magnificent! I adored perusing your "home tour;" isn't it wonderful that metallic gold is coming back? You have used it, and some "diamond" doorknobs, to add sparkle to the jewel box of colors that is your refreshing, uplifting environment!

You must be a lovely person…to have such vision, and then achieve it so "smashingly" in your beautiful home! Isn't it wonderful that metallic gold is coming back? Your inspirational use of it, along with some "diamond" doorknobs, add magnificent sparkle to the jewel box of colors in which you live. I love your contrasts: royal blues/"cool" pinks with yellow-gold (color-wheel opposites), even more "cool" in the sleekness of surfaces with overall warmth of effect (texture), and of course your successful mix of old with new!

You have a really beautiful home. Love all the pops of color. I especially love that musicians corner with the instruments! Thank you for sharing that with all of us!

Such a lovely cozy inviting home you have created. Just beautiful. I fell in love with the rug in the kitchen. I'm looking for something very similar to that for my kitchen. Could you please reveal your source. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Hi Jeanne, thank you! I bought the rug at Rugs USA for 70% off, and it is the NuLoom Barcelona rug. However, they don't seem to have it, but I did see it under a couple different names other places. Overstock calls it the NuLoom Carousel, and Wayfair calls it the NuLoom Pop Nina. It is definitely more muted in person than the product photos show, but I think you can tell that from my photos if you compare to theirs. Hope that helps! wayfair.com/nuLOOM-Pop-Nina-Area-Rug-NUHBC35A-L167-K~NLO7827.html?refid=GX50899347540-NLO7827&device=c&ptid=75695684340&gclid=CO2YwKj5lscCFdgGgQodfcIEsw

It's always so wonderful to "tour" your fabulous home! I love all the doors you have brought from the old place. I think that is what gives your home such a unique vibe, that and all the love you have placed in every corner. Absolutely stunning!! Kathy @ Sharing Shadymont

How wonderful that you have a porch right next to that beautiful little stream! Great idea to hang the bread boards and colander on the side of the cabinets. I love the way you've used bright colors throughout your home.
