Hickory Ridge Fall at Balsam Mountain Preserve

There is nothing like getting the opportunity to design something for an amazing house, right? So naturally I was excited to add some fall flair to Hickory Ridge at beautiful Balsam Mountain Preserve.

These owners like modern, industrial and rustic for this property, so I kept that in mind and kept things to a minimum and traditional but not too stereotypical.

I went with green, white and gold pumpkins and gourds, all locally sourced from Darnell Farms in Bryson City.

Instead of mums, I used the colorful Croton plants I had used on their back porch fireplace along with ferns for more greenery.

I love that these plants are not typically used this way, and that they will last much longer than mums.

I also love how everything plays off the gold trim on the windows.

I had to change out some of the plants in the planter, so I added something new to me — Arizona Sandstone Agastache in orange and gold.

This is such a gorgeous house, it needs nothing, but I’m pleased with how welcoming it looks with just a little fall flair.

Now I want to do the same on my own porch:-)

I love your small touches, they really make a big impact!
Also, I hope you don't mind-I shared your fall home tour over on my weekly roundup post last week, I was just obsessed and wanted everyone to see it!

I love how the colors of the plants and pumpkins compliment the home. So elegant and fall at the same time. My husband and I were in your part of the world last week. As as we passed the entrance to Balsam Mountain Preserve on I40, I couldn't help notice the beautifully decorated entrance for fall. You are blessed with such talent and we all appreciate how you share it with others!
