Summer farmhouse porch

Hello friends! I thought I better share my summer porch before it is full-on Fall over here!

I have been so busy with the garden that it took me much longer to get the porches pressure washed, re-stained and painted in the rough spots, and styled for summer.

I kept things really simple, but the big change was painting the columns the same green as my shutters.

I absolutely love this shade of green, and love how it makes the columns kind of disappear. The white columns really did impede the amazing views we have, and the green helps them blend in more with the surroundings. The paint color is “Coriander and Olive” by Valspar.

I pressure washed everything -top to bottom on all three porches, then spent some time re-staining the decking that is not covered, and scraping and repainting the back railings. Honestly, I hate the bulky white railings and would love black iron/metal railings that would also enhance the view more, but they are not in my budget to replace.

I found some black seat cushions to fit these odd-shaped chairs earlier in the spring at my local Walmart, I do love these, and the fact they are a neutral means I can just add accent color with throw pillows.

I used coordinating, but not too “matchey” fabrics here and made the throw pillow covers.

I always make a seasonal bow for this wreath I made from grapevine a few years ago. I love to play with fabrics, and love this combination for summer especially.

It’s been lovely to come in from the garden and just enjoy this clean space to rest. I also seriously enjoy sitting here talking with my daddy when he comes over to chat:-)

I’m certainly enjoying my sunflowers this year as it had been a few years since I grew any. They make a colorful and pretty centerpiece in the old wagon wheel hub.

I always enjoy having this extra living space in the summers, but really look forward to getting it all decorated for fall. My pumpkin patch is unreal this year, so I am planning something pretty epic:-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Be sure to check out my new items in Knight’s Store! There are a lots of new things in there for fall and the coming holiday season:-)

Oh how inviting! I agree, the green posts are just right. In a world of too much gray, white, black decor I find your home so inviting. My you HAVE been busy with this project as well as the garden. Do sit down and enjoy the view. The days fly by too quickly! Thanks for sharing.
