Mother’s Day Brunch for two Tablescape

Hi everyone! I wanted to set a pretty table for Mother’s Day, and had planned to set it for six on the uncovered porch, but rain and storms kept me from doing that, so I set a cute mother/daughter table under the porch.

I am currently obsessed with vintage Blue Ridge Pottery, and Mother bought me the Blue Ridge “Sun Bouquet” plates years ago.

This is such a beautiful springy pattern, and I wanted to let it stand out so I chose a red table topper over a lace tablecloth I made years ago.

Blue Ridge Pottery started in 1916 in Erwin, Tennessee, and from about 1938 until closing in 1957, the designs were handpainted by employees who were trained to paint the designs.

To my table, I added the 1893 Wallace “Louvre” sterling flatware. All the women in my family have always appreciated all things pretty and feminine, so don’t think you can’t use the good silver, crystal and china for everyday. Those little details really make ordinary things feel special🙂

I used Blue Ridge “Colonial Becky” coffee cups and saucers to coordinate with the “Sun Bouquet” and Cristal D’Arques Durand “Longchamp” crystal.

Most of the flowers came from mother’s garden – daddy’s snowball blooms, purple iris, lemon lilies, and some red azalea blooms from my garden.

I love how sweet this table turned out. I really wanted to make it pretty but not too fussy, and I think I achieved that.

Thanks so much for stopping by friends🙂  I hope you’re inspired to get out the good silver and set a pretty table, even if it’s just for a breakfast or coffee on the porch. Make those everyday moments into the special ones you remember.

I want to wish the happiest of Mother’s Days to my beautiful Mother! I’m so thankful for her and blessed to be right next door❤️

Happy Mother’s Day❤️

Anita

I have a few pieces of the Blue Ridge dinnerware displayed in my kitchen. Mom used it for our everyday meals and it’s amazing that any of it survived. The design is one of my absolute favorites–probably because of the memories. Thank you, sweet friend, for the walk back in time that this post provided.

Oh wow, I’m so happy you shared that with me! Mother had some in the attic, so I’ve added to that, and there are BR plates in one of my birthday photos from many years back🙂 I am obsessed with it for sure as well as the history and nostalgia it brings❤️

It is a beautiful table setting and anyone would feel special to sit at this table. My momhas passed away many years ago but, I lived just around the corner from them. Mother’s are the best and I miss her every day.

Those are the happiest dishes! Sometimes I will see a few of those in thrift stores.

Your mom looks so beautiful and glamorous in that photo. I can see the resemblance!

I am 74 and lost my mom when I was 38. Knowing your mom is still with you warms my heart. I am sure she felt special and loved sitting at that table with such a loving, thoughtful daughter. And that old photograph is so beautiful Look at that face!
