Hi everyone! I thought I’d share my front porch all decorated for summer. I have not gotten around to sharing the summer porch in years, but I was determined to get the pollen, most of the spider webs, and a lot of the dirt that comes with living in the woods by a creek cleaned up🙂

I’ve been searching for affordable rugs I liked for a few years now, and decided to try these washable rugs from amazon. I wanted dark with pattern, because it gets dirty here, and anything light looks dingy too quickly. These have all the colors I use throughout the year, so if they hold up well, I’ll really be happy.

I use the blower to keep things clean out here and also the pressure washer for rugs when they get dirty, although this is a washable rug, I’m not planning to put it in my washing machine.

I changed out a bow I made years back and added this blue floral fabric I ripped from a Ralph Lauren sheet. I wanted to add blue to the green and red to keep things from looking too Christmasy.

I moved some plants form inside out here and added a red toile pillow I made years ago and a blue floral from KMart.

I had the blue plaid flannel fabric and thought it would be a good contrast to the florals.

I love my porches, and we certainly enjoy stepping out any time of day for a breath of fresh air, to hear the creek or the birds, and just appreciate God’s beautiful creation that we are so blessed to be the caretakers of. Those simple moments of peace – breathing in the fresh mountain air, are very healing to a weary soul.
Thanks for stopping by friends🙂 I’ve uploaded a video with some behind the scenes work on the porch, and some peaceful and relaxing scenes around the porch. Until next time…

Hi Anita, what a nice surprise to be scrolling through You Tube when your vlog appeared. The porch looks so inviting. The rugs are so colorful and add such a cozy feel to the porch. Love the reds and blues too. Ferns are the best and they add such great color and texture. It must be heavenly to hear the rush of the brook while sitting outside. I also, enjoyed your kitchen vlog. Those plates are very pretty, and I always enjoy all the red and fresh flowers. Picture Perfect and always so cozy and inspiring. Enjoy your summer! I could live without the humidity these Maryland summers bring, that’s why the Fall is the BEST!! 🙂

Thank you so much!! Yes I sure hate the humidity too, and definitely look forward to fall!!
Your porch is so peaceful and lovely. Right now I can set outside for a while in the morning but then it gets so humid here in Oklahoma. I love to set outside and read my bible and watch and listen to nature, so peaceful. Have a fun time on your porch and thanks for sharing.
