Mason jar jewelry

The calendar says “spring” even if it was 20 degrees last night here in the North Carolina mountains.

As soon as trees and shrubbery start flowering and blooming, I love bringing cuttings into the house. I also love how they look in the old Mason jars I found here on the property.

I don’t like to leave the rims bare, though, so I use canning rings and found that painting them with Rustoleum “Hammered Finish”really gives the look of zinc.

And I really love that look…so vintage and worn.

It’s the finishing touch…like jewelry for an outfit:-)

Hmmm…. I leave my rims on as well… but spray-painting them, now that's a grand idea. Thanks Anita!

Anita, that is such a small and simple change, but it really does make a difference. I love it. So glad you shared the tip.

So pretty. Using the rings is a wonderful idea. It finishes the look so much more nicely. Going to have to remember this little tip!!

Love the flowers in the Ball jar, but my eyes were immediately fixated on that vintage phone!!! I could just kick myself a million times over for having thrown out all our old ones. That was about 30+ years ago, though, when push-button came into vogue, so I had no idea I'd actually want to see another dial phone again!

Love the blue of the Mason jar with the pink blossoms. Gorgeous!

Great idea for the rings and I have a phone just like it that I paid $10.00 for.
