Hello friends! I really wanted to get one more video and post up before everyone has officially moved onto Spring. I never feel a rush to move into Spring, and I sure don’t look forward to heat, bugs and humidity🥵
We’ve enjoyed our living room this season, and I love how things have just naturally evolved in this room. I’ve kept the cabin-inspired style I had at Christmas and added some cozy throws, pillows and some more of my Native art collection.

The red velvet pillows are from Walmart years ago, and the cream kilim pillows from Target many years ago. I made the matelasse pillow covers a while back and love the creamy texture of that pattern. My leather Chesterfield sofa is still a favorite.

I like to have lots of plants this time of year, so I added this ivy to a hand-painted Mexican pot my parents brought me years ago.

I really wanted to display the Kachina dolls my daddy gave me, and tried them in shadow boxes, but didn’t like how they looked so I ended up adding a shelf to this box I made and love how they look here. Although Kachinas are rooted in traditional Hopi religious culture, these are Navajo made and created specifically as beautiful works of art. When I was in the US Air Force, my daddy would go to Cherokee to find something special for me for Christmas, and these are two of the treasures he bought. That makes them even more special😊 They hang over arrow arrowheads my maternal grandfather collected on his land. I’ve displayed these on an old stair tread from the house daddy grew up in here on this property.

I have my Cherokee stickball sticks hanging on these windows also from the old house here. Daddy also gave me these one Christmas.

My great grandmother’s chaise is definitely my favorite resting spot – this is where you’ll find me Sunday afternoons after a long morning at church😊 A cozy faux fur throw and pillows I had make this spot super cozy.

I didn’t change much on the mantel but added Navajo and Cherokee pottery, and a larger piece of Mattaponi pottery from Virginia. The turtle shell rattle is Sioux, and I bought that in South Dakota

I love the cabin-feel this room has, and have enjoyed bringing out some things that were packed away in cabinets. I always say shop your own home and just rotate things around, and your space will feel new and refreshed😊
There’s a video on my channel, so be sure to check that out as well😊 Thanks for stopping by!!
