Hello everyone! It’s been a busy month here, especially for me getting everything ready for my worship ministry Easter programs! For me, puttering around at home is a very welcome creative outlet not related to music and something I love to do🙂
I had a vision of an Appalachian spring cabin with open windows, white lace curtains blowing in the breeze, lots of vintage materials like muslin and feed sacks, old wood and lamp light.

I made a sink skirt out of a vintage Ralph Lauren twin sheet a few years back, but never used it. I got it out and paired it with a lot of whites and ivories and love how it looks.

For the open shelves, I used dishes that came with flour sacks to my granddaddy’s store. I have not used these in a while and really wanted to use the pure white color ironstone instead of the usual creamware I love.

There are several of these floral pattern plates each with different rim color and flowers. I used the green and blue then added to that with white ironstone and milk glass I had.

I made the ticking stripe pillow cover then added a pillow I made out of feed sacks from granddaddy’s store. These were all saved here folded up and in pristine condition when I found them years ago.

Mother found the vintage Beacon blanket in the attic this winter. They were actually made here in Swannanoa from 1936 until 2002.

I used more feed sack towels and a tray I believe belonged to my grandmother. The large piece of marble I use also came from the store as well as the Magic Yeast box daddy found a few years ago. The little floral creamer and sugar bowl came with an inherited antique chocolate pot. I thought the florals looked so pretty for spring.

For the table, I used a runner I made years ago, lamps from the old house here and filled a Cherokee basket my daughter gifted me with grocery store hydrangeas.

I got out an inherited set of Noritake Chandova from the 1930s to use for my Easter table. I love this china and use it a lot. I added 1896 Wallace & Sons Louvre sterling flatware, napkins I had and my 1990s Cristal D’Arques – Durand Longchamp iced tea glasses.

I love the greens and blues and really wanted to incorporate those colors as much as I could with the whites and woods.

I’ve really been enjoying this look in the kitchen, and as much as I don’t look forward to spring, I embrace it by trying to incorporate the feel of a fresh, clean start and imagine myself on 100 acres in a cabin in the woods, windows open and clothes hanging on the line😁 The pollen is so bad now for the next month or so, no clothes will be hanging on the line, sadly😂
Thanks for stopping by friends! There’s a video on my channel sharing some of my grandaddy’s store and how that influenced my style as well as some pretty spring footage😊
I hope you have a beautiful Easter!
Anita

Love your kitchen and always love hearing about your items from the family and seeing how you use them. So many memories, I do the same with what I have of my mom’s and grandmothers things, hopefully they will be cherished by my sons and grandchildren. Have a Happy Easter as we rejoice over that Christ has risen.

thank you for sharing.
I adore your seasonal posts. This is lovely. I wonder if want to pull out your desert rose for spring? I just got a set and am pretty excited to have found it. Saw you did a small patio table post, but have a late April big birthday dinner I’m hoping to use it for. Would love to see your tablescape ideas for it! 😁
