Summer Front Porch makeover

Hello friends! I’m back sharing my clean and refreshed summer porch! Although we’ve had some extreme weather this spring, we have been able to enjoy some cool days with windows open and a nice breeze blowing through the house.

The porch was nasty from pollen, dust, spider webs, bugs, etc., so first I pressure washed everything and washed all the furniture.

I just used things I already had to decorate, and kept it pretty simple. Mother had given me these beautiful flowers.

I wanted to use yellow and red out here and just pulled from my stash of pillow covers and accessories.

I made this bow from scraps of fabric and used it last year on the back porch.

The most exciting thing was installing this screen door. I had wanted to use one of the old ones I have saved from the old house here, but they were too narrow, so I bought an inexpensive one at Lowes ($65), and daddy and I shaved off about a 1/2″ with the hand planer. It fit perfectly in my opening.

I saved some old spring hinges off the other doors here to use as well. I love how the door creaks and slams shut – just what I wanted😊

These are the rugs I got off amazon last year, and although they have faded on the side the sun hits, they have held up well. They don’t seem to have them in stock anymore.

I love having it all clean so we can just enjoy sitting here.

I tried to keep things a little simpler out here, because more things out here are just more things to catch dust and spider webs! Next will be the side and back porches😄

I’ve linked a video on my channel with behind the scenes and a sweet surprise at the end, so be sure to check that out.

Thanks for stopping by friends!

Anita
