Autumn on the back porch

Hello friends! It’s really starting to feel like fall, and finally our leaves are turning here. Everything was delayed because of the extreme heat this year🥵

I really love this back porch this time of year because the sun has moved to this side, and the light is just gorgeous!

I did basically the same thing I did last year using some pillow covers I made a few years back, bows from strips of fabric and arrangements of wildflowers, weeds and leaves.

I did buy a mum for the first time in years because this was was only $6.48 and such a gorgeous color!

i used my Wedgewood Queen’s Plain (Shape) and my Blue Ridge County Fair plates for a pretty fall table.

Wallace and Sons Louvre flatware, glassware from Pier One years ago and napkins I had make a pretty fall table setting.

I love this time of year, and this is really the only time we can enjoy even being out here because the bugs are finally gone along with the heat and humidity!

I’m enjoying these beautiful days while they last because this season is so fleeting. I love this quote from George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans) —

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.”

–George Eliot

And so I would🧡 There’s a video up with some beautiful new drone footage my husband shot, finishing up the harvest and a back porch tour so be sure to check that out and subscribe – if you’re not already🧡

Thanks for stopping by the back porch!
