Hello friends! I’m sharing a little fall refresh in the bedroom! So happy I got it done because we needed the warm blankets this weekend😊
I’m just using things I had and adding some fall foliage from outside as per usual.
I wanted to use the Beacon blanket I got last year, and I was a little skeptical about how it would look with the style of the Victorian bed, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I love how the wood tones really play off the warm tones in the blanket, and love the kind of cabin/western look the blanket has on such a traditional late 1800s bed. I used the same kilim pillow covers I bought from Turkey last year and added an orange wool camp blanket at the foot of the bed for something solid.
I folded an alpaca blanket from Ecuador my daughter gifted me on the trunk from my great aunt Frances.
These dogwood branches were the only leaves with color I could find anywhere around, and I placed them in an old wagon wheel hub that I’ve fitted with a vase inside.
Navajo pottery and a Cherokee-made candle holder keep the warm tone color palette.
In this corner, I added a Cherokee basket with hydrangeas and some Native pottery as well as a basket I found at an antique store last year. I’m not sure of the origin, but it looks very similar to a Nisqually basket I bought in Washington state years ago.
Over the mantel, I used the photo my husband shot back in 2022 at Lake Emory here after he got the news his father had had a heart attack. Thankfully, he made a full recovery, and this photo is a reminder of that.
I added a collection of dolls including a very old one that belonged to my mother. Cherokee and Mexican pottery carry out the earthy, organic look I wanted.
I love how this room turned out. It’s so warm and welcoming, and it just feels good to be in here. It definitely reflects the season outside, and that’s always my goal😊
